I joined Maskcara on a total whim. I had been a part of a different direct sales company I had also joined on a whim, but it company didn’t feel right. Maskcara, on the otherhand? It instantly felt like home. I read the about page and with one sentence I was sold: “Maskcara Beauty was founded…on the idea that makeup should be used to enhance the true beauty in a woman’s face, rather than covering it up.”
As you get to know me you’ll hear me say more often than not I am a low-maintanence girl. Before Maskcara I wore tinted moisturizer, if I wore anything. I didn’t like the time commitment it felt makeup needed. I never felt confident in the products to use or how to apply them.
Maskcara became a game changer. It was quick. It was simple. And I always felt like me; not an imposter pretending to be someone I wasn’t. I love this makeup!
At the end of it all, however, what I love about Maskcara Beauty is so much more than makeup. I love everything I have gained through joining the artist program. I know direct sales can get a bad wrap, but stop and consider these ways I have grown.
Because of Maskcara I am more confident.
Hopping on Facebook live is still so incredibly nerve-wracking but in the best way possible. I get excited knowing I get to connect with women and share something new. I feel with each video I do I become more relaxed and let the crazy, quirky me come out.
I am an introvert. Being part of a networking marketing business has forced me out of my shell. I now have to speak with people, strangers even. I have found I am slowly becoming more open to sharing the product and business. Without Maskcara I would not be putting myself out there or connecting with strangers. Each day I am more confident.
Because of Maskcara I love myself more.
I still have plenty of struggle and insecurities, believe me! Through the Artist program, however, I am learning to love things that make me unique. I am able to see beauty in myself as well as others with each color match I do. It is wonderful to be part of an uplifting community; a group of women who compliment and encourage one another. The comparison game is a tough one. You’d think being part of an industry with selfies as a main sales tool would only escalate the comparison spiral. Instead, you love the ability to add your own uniqueness with theirs. There is room for everyone, and that’s a great feeling to have.
Because of Maskcara I’ve been able to travel.
I love traveling. Traveling is my favorite! (cue my inner Will Ferrell in Elf) Since joining Maskcara Beauty as an Artist I have been able to go to Las Vegas for the official launch party. I will soon be off to Salt Lake City for “Dream” – the 2018 annual conference. While these may not feel like exotic destinations, they are still opportunities. Opportunities to explore to places, to meet new people. And this is only the tip of the iceberg.
Most network marketing companies offer trips and Maskcara is no exception. While I won’t be heading to Mexico on this first trip, I love knowing potential is there! I have plans to one day get to travel and help train women all over the country. I will earn incentive trips. I have goals, ya’ll, and it’s refreshing to know the power to achieve them is all mine. My success or failure is up to me. There’s something freeing, yet frightening, to know I have that much control.
Because of Maskcara I’ve established friendships.
The beauty of networking marketing is they depend so heavily on relationships. It’s difficult to have sales without customers and like all sales training will tell you: people need to know, like and trust you. Since joining Maskcara I have been able to rekindle relationships with countless women I had met through the years. Time passes and it’s easy to lose touch without a common thread. Additionally, I’ve had the opportunity to meet women through mutual friends. Not only do I help color match and give them a makeover, but I get to hear their stories and create connection. It’s a beautiful thing!
I’ve also established relationships with my Maskcara sisters! Amazing, motivating, beautiful women on my team and beyond have encouraged me. My direct upline is someone I had never met before direct sales and I now consider her one of my dearest friends.
I have always held firm to the idea of quality over quantity when it comes to friendship. With Maskcara it would seem I am able to have my cake and eat it too. Every woman I have met at conferences or through social media has been of the highest quality.
Because of Maskcara I’ve made some money.
Here’s the deal, I’m not going to focus much on numbers. I’m not going to make promises of a drastic life change in finances because of Maskcara. But the truth of the matter is, I have been able to earn money. My work in the company is how I’m able to attend the conference including food, hotel and airline tickets. Am I in a position to leave my full-time job and depend solely on Maskcara? Nope. Is the potential there? Definitely.
You get out of network marketing the work you are willing to put into it. You want the big dollars? Get ready to put in the big work.
Maskcara has been so much more than some great makeup. It truly, in the cheesiest most authentic of ways, has impacted my life for the better. The friendships, confidence and perspective on life are things I would never change. Knowing I have been able to share this experience with other women is humbling. If you want to learn more or have questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me. I love sharing and am a (relatively) open book!
